Shri Gandhi Bal Niketan was founded in 1959 as a Hindi Medium Special Montessori School with the approach to provide quality education to all. In due course as per demand of the area and aspiration of the people Bal Niketan was upgraded to Upper Primary Level in 2000, Secondary in 2004 and Senior Secondary in 2013. To enhance the services a branch of Bal Niketan was started in 2009 near Rini Well as Hindi Medium Upper Primary School.
An English Medium School in real sense with fine infra structural facilities, qualified and competent faculties was the need of the area. Looking into the matter Bal Niketan conducted a public opinion poll to decide whether to start an English Medium School or not. This is for first time in the history of education Scenario that a school adopted the method of conducting public opinion poll to take a policy decision. On the basis of the outcome of the Public Opinion Poll and continuous suggestions, received from different stakeholders of the Society. The Bal Niketan administration has decided to provide a Real Type of English Medium School from Nursery on -wards, from the session 2015-16 along with its well established Hindi Medium School in its main campus situated at Station Road, Ratangarh.
श्री गांधी बाल निकेतन की स्थापना 1 मार्च 1959 में गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा उपलब्ध करवाने के लिये हिन्दी माध्यम के विशिष्ट मोंटेसरी विद्यालय के रुप में हुई थी । अपनी विकास यात्रा में अभिभावकों की आकांक्षाओं एवं आवश्यकताओं के अनुरूप बाल निकेतन सत्र 2000-2001 में उच्च प्राथमिक 2004-2005 में माध्यमिक तथा 2013-2014 में विज्ञान, वाणिज्य एवं कला संकाय के साथ उच्च माध्यमिक स्तर पर क्रमोन्नत हुआ । अपने सेवा क्षेत्र के विस्तार की भावना से सत्र 2009-2010 में रिणी वाले कुएँ के पास अपनी एक शाखा की स्थापना की ।
सर्वश्रेष्ठ आधारभूत सुविधाओं से युक्त भवन, कुशल एवं योग्य शिक्षक वाले अंग्रेजी माध्यम के विद्यालय की आवश्यकता तथा अभिभावकों की भावना को देखते हुये बाल निकेतन द्वारा अंग्रेजी माध्यम का विद्यालय प्रारम्भ करने अथवा नहीं करने पर एक जनमत संग्रह करवाया गया । शिक्षा जगत् के इतिहास में पहली बार किसी विद्यालय ने जनमत संग्रह कर विद्यालय संचालन की नीति निर्धारण का सफल प्रयोग किया । समाज के विभिन्न वर्गों से मिले सुझावों के अनुसरण में बाल निकेतन प्रबंधन ने सत्र 2015-2016 से अपने स्टेशन रोड स्थित मुख्य भवन में हिन्दी के साथ-साथ अंग्रेजी माध्यम की कक्षायें प्रारम्भ करने का निर्णय लिया ।
